EVENT DESCRIPTION
This Intensive Foundation Massage Course gives its students sound practical and theoretical components of giving and receiving a professional therapeutic massage in a clinical setting. Students will be given Certification allowing them to access Insurance and Membership with IICT – International Institute of Complementary Therapists.
9am – 5pm each day = 14 hours intensive training per weekend = 42 practical and theory training + 30 hours of clinical and home-based practice for successful completion of this course for Nationally Recognised Certification.
Weekend 1
This first intensive weekend begins on January 4th and 5th and covers basic relaxation massage techniques, draping etiquette, contraindications, setting up a log book, client confidentiality and the importance of appropriate language and conduct between therapist and client.
The weekdays between Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 gives the students the allocated time to perform 10 clinical hours of massage prior to commencement of Weekend 2.
Weekend 2
The second intensive weekend continues on January 11th and 12th and covers foundation surface anatomy, therapeutic massage techniques for pain relief, correct carrier and essential oil usage, postural stance and personal care as a therapist.
The 2 weeks between Weekend 2 and Weekend 3 gives the students the allocated time to perform 20 clinical hours of massage prior to commencement of Weekend 3.
Weekend 3
The third intensive weekend is 25th and 26th January will cover the duty of disclosure, professional approaches to working in the industry and the completion and assessment of a full body massage.
Certificates are issued on successful completion of the Course at the end of Weekend 3.
